A.J.Le Mayeur, a painter from Belgium with his Balinese wife Ni Polok who was lived there in 1937, was the first man who introduced Sanur area to the world. He often performed his exhibition of his own painting there.

Sanur beach is a quiet beach, which is mean the wave is not so big. That is why there is nobody who can surfing here. But, if we talking about the sunrise view, this is the right beach. The panorama of sunset (around 5am - 6am) is great. Furthermore, from here you can see Nusa Penida island at the south east, and at the east we can see the panorama Bali island beach south, with the mountain as the background.

It is very easy to reach Sanur beach. Having a car rental is the best way to go there. There is also a public transportation, connected between Sanur beach with Denpasar city. Sanur beach is very busy by the local tourist and overseas.

Especially on Sunday, or any day-off, the citizen of Denpasar will be usually goes to the beach, just seeing the sunset or swimming. Close to the beach, still in Sanur area, you can visit a famous e Mayeur Museum as well.
